"Danger! Murderers, Rapists, Kidnappers, Child Molesters, and Other Criminals on Board."

What: Amid slumping poll numbers, Republican gubernatorial candidate Michael Williams released a campaign ad featuring the "Deportation Bus." The ad was published to YouTube Tuesday. Williams is currently a state senator from Cumming, Georgia and is second to last in the polls.

In the video, Williams says he will be driving the bus all over the state in an effort to promote his use of federal program 287(g) to deport as many illegal immigrants as possible. Under the programsheriff’s deputies are deputized to act as ICE agents.

WhyImmigration continues to be a hot topic in the national conversation. President Donald Trump regularly tweets about the border wall, ICE deportations are at an all time high, and public debate over sanctuary cities regularly takes place.

Pew Research Center survey from August of 2016 showed that Americans are split sharply among party lines on the issue of illegal immigration.

Play by Play

Williams pulls no punches with the language he uses in the video.

"We have our bus tour ready to go, but it’s not going to be one of those pansy political bus tours. We’ve got the deportation bus. That’s right, you heard me. The Michael Williams deportation bus."

It's not subtle.

"We’re going to implement my 287(g) deportation plan that’s going to fill this bus with illegals to send them back to where they came from."

It appears that Williams is targeting a fringe demographic with his highly charged rhetoric.
"If you’re as tired as I am with politicians that do nothing but talk and you wanna see this bus filled with illegals, vote Michael Williams on May 22nd."
