Cindy McCain, wife of Arizona Senator John McCain, directed a Twitter message to Kelly Sadler after The Hill reported the White House aide joked about John McCain's cancer during a closed-door strategy meeting.
"May I remind you my husband has a family, 7 children and 5 grandchildren," McCain said in a Thursday evening tweet.

"It doesn't matter, he's dying anyway." Sadler is reported to have said during a Thursday meeting. The White House has not denied the report.
According to CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta, a White House official confirmed that Sadler made the joke.
